LMUTH Strengthens China–Zambia Health Partnership through Medical Innovation

Today, 03 February 2026, Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital (LMUTH) hosted a follow up visit from our partners West China Hospital, Neusoft Innovation Technologies, and the International Hospital of Zambia, reaffirming the strong and growing China Zambia health partnership anchored in medical innovation and capacity building.

‎The visit was attended by the Director of Clinical Care and Diagnostic Services at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Walubita Lisulo and officers from MOH; Senior Medical Superintendent of LMUTH, Dr. Charles Mutemba and Senior Management; Vice President of Neusoft Medical Systems Co. Ltd, Mr. Dan Zhang and team, and Head of Radiology at LMUTH, Dr. Mutinta Nteeni.

‎A key outcome of this collaboration is the continued strengthening of telemedicine services, enabling real-time remote consultations, diagnosis, and continuous skills exchange between specialists in Zambia and China. Central to this advancement is the state of the art Neusoft CT diagnostic technology installed at LMUTH, which enhances imaging accuracy, improves diagnostic efficiency, and supports better clinical decision making for complex cases.

‎Integrated with telemedicine platforms, this advanced CT technology enables remote specialist collaboration—reducing delays in care and minimising the need for patients to seek treatment abroad. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to modern, technology-driven healthcare, strengthening local capacity through digital innovation, skills transfer, and improved patient outcomes.
